Following the launch of the Xiaomi 15T Series which took place globally, it’s safe to say that the spotlight was stolen by the earlier announced Xiaomi 17 Pro – the one with the display right adjacent to the camera. An amazing revolutionary of design it is, and functional as it can get, unfortunately, it’s not coming to Malaysia – well, it won’t be available in South East Asia.
Xiaomi 17 Pro Not Launching in Malaysia, Southeast Asia
Our source, a trusted and verified individual who wishes to remain anonymous, has shared that the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max will not be available in Southeast Asian markets – and that includes Malaysia. This might come as a surprise to many, but to us, it seemed inevitable, given that a vast selection of Xiaomi products announced in China has never made it out of the country.
In fact, a lot of the groundbreaking devices Xiaomi has made in the past, which include the recently announced Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 and previously announced Xiaomi 15 Pro and Xiaomi 14 Pro, have not entered many markets, for reasons we may not know of. But if we were to speculate, it could be due to the stronger competitors and pricing structure reasons. But circling back to the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max, it’s sad that we won’t be seeing the official release of these amazing phones out of the Chinese Market.
I guess we can hope that we will see a better variant someday – in the meantime, the Xiaomi 15T Series and 15 Series are the best we can expect from the brand for the time being. Check out our video on the Xiaomi 15T Pro by clicking here.
