One of the announcements ROG made before the ROG Xbox Ally X made its way was the new ROG XG Mobile, which now relies on the Thunderbolt 5 Interface with the RTX 50 Series GPU under the hood. Well, good news, you can get the ROG XG Mobile 2025 for your Ally X or any device that supports Thunderbolt 5.

ROG XG Mobile 2025 Malaysia

The ROG XG Mobile 2025 is not just an eGPU solution for users to connect and get more CUDA Core performance out of it, but its also an expansion that allows you to connect your peripherals, displays, and so much more – all jam-packed in a single compact solution that is ready to get your gaming or even productivity-centric work going.

With this being the first to feature Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, the amount of devices supported might be limited, though its already limited to x86/x64 platforms only – but then, the adoption of Thunderbolt 5 on laptops and such is still new, you are getting a futureproofed solution in the long run which I am really happy about.

Under the hood, at least here in Malaysia, the only variant you will be getting is the NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU with 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM with a max TGP of 140W, and honestly, that’s a lot of power for devices like the Ally X or a lightweight laptop. All that weighing less than 1kg makes it a fantastic solution to bring on the move.

To reiterate, the ROG XG Mobile 2025 is going for RM 6,299, and you can now purchase it through ASUS eStore or through select appointed outlets. We will get our hands on one to give you a better insight if you should get one or not.
