Expect to see the word AI thrown around for almost everything in 2026, because that is the trend afterall. But one product we noticed that does “kind of” live up to the AI term would be Razer Project AVA AI Desk Companion – a concept unveiled at CES 2026.

CES 2026 Razer Project AVA AI Desk Companion

As the name suggests, the whole point of Project AVA is to create this Desk Companion you could have it which is supposed to be this “Friend for Life”. Hardware-wise, you are looking at this cylindrical canister-like device that sits on the table with a microphone and a camera with an ambient sensor on the top. On the bottom, you have RGB, which supports Chroma and inside the cannister, you will find a 5.5” 3D Holographic panel which displays these avatars/characters.

Currently, there are five companions for you to choose from, one of which is SAO. Yep, that Japanese office girl who shot to fame with her cute and bubbly look. Never thought I’d see this day. The whole idea of this device is supposed to be your in-game and your personal life organiser that takes care of Daily Planner and Wellness, which is an idea I like. While the avatar is cool, what seems to be of concern is the AI they are using for it.

Project AVA utilises X (Twitter) AI, Grok, which has an AI assistant avatar of its own, and it makes sense as to why Razer is leveraging that. However, with recent stories on how Grok has been controversial and unsafe to users, it is a little concerning. However, AVA is said to be built with open, future-ready architecture, which will allow other AI platforms to integrate however they want.

The entire AVA comes to life with the help of a USB-C Cable and a Windows machine. Yes, it specifically leverages over Windows. That said, we have no idea what the pricing and availability are going to be like, but I am keen on taking a look and seeing where this idea is going to take us in 2026 and beyond.
