Jetour is adding another car to their lineup here in Malaysia, and it’s the new Jetour T2, a rather rugged-looking car that does have its appeal among the masses, and it is aimed to be a rather adventurous car on the road and off the road. Priced at RM 156,800, what is it really we are getting here?

The Jetour T2 is their rugged 4×4 SUV aimed at consumers who would love their car to bring the fun from the roads to off-road. This particular car we see here comes in one configuration for the Malaysian market. However, what caught our attention is the ASEAN NCAP certification at five stars, which is what we usually care about in a car.

The 2.0TD XWD variant comes packed with a 2.0L TGDi Engine with a 7-speed DCT under the hood, with a maximum torque of 375Nm and a maximum 180kW of power. Don’t get confused with the mention of kW because it isn’t an EV, in case you are wondering.

That said, what makes the Jetour T2 rather special is the X in the XWD naming scheme. The X is indicative of their X-Smart Drive mode selector, which gives the users complete control over how they would like to change the driving conditions and in fact, it has the ability to even automatically adapt and provide optimal settings for the users on any kind of terrain. Something we can only comment on after trying out.

Apart from that, the Jetour T2 is pretty much an SUV from the looks to the finish on the outside, but on the inside, it screams comfort in every possible way. For audio, you have a Sony flagship 12-channel audio system, the seats are electronically configurable with memory and even offer ventilation to keep you cool, a sunroof that spans from the driver all the way to the end and a 15.6”-inch Touch Screen interface which has all the controls you need.

A rugged SUV needs a safe build, and the body uses a reinforced steel cage to absorb impact and protect the cabin. With ADAS Level 2, you are looking at lane-keep support assist all the way to Adaptive Cruise and with the panoramic cameras, you are getting a bird’s-eye view to make sure your car is parked safely and with proper surveillance.

The Jetour T2 comes in three colours: Khaki White, Carbon White and Aviation Silver. Here in Malaysia, there’s only one variant available as mentioned above, and with the teaser showcasing the price to be in the RM 180k mark, Jetour surprised with the RM 156,800 price tag with an early bird package where the first 3,000 registrations will get an additional RM 2,000 rebate.

Apart from that, the Jetour T2 is being offered with a standard package which is decent for a car of this calibre.
