If you go by the timeline of product launches with Samsung, you have the S series for the first quarter, and then A series for the second quarter – and lo and behold, we have the Samsung Galaxy A57 and Samsung Galaxy A37 launching in Malaysia. What improved? Well, though it is incremental, it is in the right direction.

Samsung Galaxy A57 | Samsung Galaxy A37

Just like every other year, the Samsung Galaxy A57 and the Samsung Galaxy A37 has very minimal differences that tells both phones apart. But its more under the hood where you’ll notice the big differences.

On a whole, you get the same 6.7” FHD+ Super AMOLED Display with 120Hz refesh rate but the new display has improved screen-to-body ratio and minimal bezels, making the phone look a whole lot more premium. Both the phone houses 5000mAh battery with 45W Fast Charging, so you are not missing out on a good battery life from these phones. With One UI 8.5, it’s no surprise that the AI features are the talk of the town and you get most of the features here as well.

Now where things really differ are as follows:

  1. The performance: while the storage and RAM configuration remains identical, you are, however, looking at a more powerful processor with the A57, and that’s the Samsung Exynos 1680, while the A37 is powered by Exynos 1480.
  2. The build quality differs too, with the A57 now having a chassis as thin as 6.9mm and using aluminium build, compared to the plastic build on the A37.
  3. The Camera specification changes a little. Both the phone has the same 12MP front facing camera, 50MP main shooter, 5MP macro camera (which serves no purpose) but a varying 12MP ultra-wide on the A57 and 8MP ultra-wide on the A37.
  4. Due to the difference in processing power, the A57 gets a more capable night photography experience with the Samsung ISP incorporated into the phone.

Finally, both the phones do get upto six generations of OS Updates and other features which we have experience with older A Series smartphones such as the Knox Vault, Private Album and Privacy Alerts.
