The fifth iteration of Google’s wearable is here and the Google Pixel Watch 5 gets some incremental improvements that puts it a little ahead of its 4th generation Pixel Watch. Let’s check out.

To get the specification out of the way, consumers can pick between two sizes: 41mm and 45mm. While they do sound big, it does play a nice illusion because the watches wear differently on the wrist, all thanks to the dome glass it uses. Honestly, it looks like a Ressance watch to me and just for that I really like the Google Pixel Watch 5 a lot. The display is a 3000 nits display which looks lovely with 11 new glanceable complications and two new watch faces.

The watch uses a Pyrite housing, which is the first time I am hearing on a smartwatch which we will look into more when we get the chance. But this watch goes further by featuring a repairable architecture, which means it is repair friendly. And the bands are made of Hyrdrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber.

The Google Pixel Watch 5 supports both 4G LTE and UMTS and works via WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax and Bluetooth 6.0. Kudos to Google for just making one variant and not overcomplicate things. On top of that, the watch features UWB with Satellite SOS communication as well. The GPS accuracy appears to be improved, which we can only tell more when we try them out.

As for the battery, you are looking at 332 mAh for the 41mm and 465 mAh for the 45 mm. Both supporting quick charging with the help of the Quick Charge Dock. Unlike a certain brand in the market which uses Snapdragon Elite for wearable, the Google Pixel Watch 5 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Accelerated, which is still fine.

Pricing and Availability

The Google Pixel Watch 5 is priced at RM 1,799 for the 41mm and RM 1,999 for the 45mm. Both of which are now available for pre-order via Google Store and Authorized dealers, starting 12th August and available on shelves on the 20th August 2026 onwards.
