The POCO F9 series has been a pretty good choice of smartphone for users who only care about the performance of a smartphone and this time around there are two models to choose from: the Poco F9 Pro and the Poco F9 Ultra. Both offers flagship performance but with its own difference which makes the Ultra slightly better than the Pro.

POCO F9 Malaysia Launch

Starting with the POCO F9 Ultra which is the crème de la crème variant in the lineup, houses the following specifications:

  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with option for 12GB or 16GB RAM and storage configuration of 256GB all the way up to 1TB.
  • 6.9” 185Hz AMOLED display
  • 8050mAh Battery with support for 100W wired charging and 50W Wireless charging
  • And for the camera, you have a triple camera setup with 200MP main sensor, 50MP Periscope setup and 50MP Ultrawide camera. The front facing camera is a 32MP sensor.
  • You do get a dedicated Sound by Bose stereo speaker with an independent Subwoofer

The POCO F9 Pro is a slightly smaller phone with a tasteful configuration as well:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, V Series, which appears to be a binned processor and has option of 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage.
  • 6.59” 185Hz AMOLED display
  • 6330mAh Battery with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging
  • The camera setup remains to be the same for the main and telephoto, however it gets a slightly inferior 8MP Ultrawide camera. But the front facing camera is retains the same 32MP sensor.
  • This phone too features a Sound by Bose stereo speaker but misses out on the Subwoofer.

Both the phones are available for pre-order, and purchase and it will be priced as follows:

  • Poco F9 Ultra:

    • RM 3,999 – 16GB | 512GB
    • RM 4,799 – 16GB | 1TB
  • Poco F9 Pro:
    • RM 3,299 – 12GB | 256GB
    • RM 3,499 – 12GB | 512GB

For a limited time, both the phones will be offered with a discount and for those who purchase the F9 Ultra will get a free POCO Pad C1 whereas the POCO F9 Pro customers will get a Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro on the house.
