Mid-tier phones have always focused on bringing a lot of value for money and the Redmi series in general are no strangers to that. The REDMI Note 17 however, focuses on something a lot of mid-tier phones refuses to. That is to be a long lasting phone for years to come and that’s their focus with the new lineup. Four models to choose from with different focus with each models, the REDMI Note 17 Series is here for a good and long time.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Max

This new Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, marks the brands first ever Pro Max REDMI branded smartphone and it truly lives up to its name. Featuring 10,000mAh battery under the hood with 100W HyperCharge, the phone still offers the same TITAN Durability we saw with the Redmi Note 15 series and offers all the Ingress Protection you could expect. You get a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and behind that glass, the phone features a 6.83” 1.5K AMOLED display.
The phone features a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor with 8GB RAM and storage options of either 256GB or 512GB respectively. On the back, the phone touts a dual-camera setup of 50MP main sensor and 8MP ultra-wide sensor.
Redmi Note 17 Pro

On the other hand, you have the Redmi Note 17 Pro which has a slightly less beefier specification but still doesn’t shy away from putting up an epic show for what it is. It touts the same display size and resolution as the Pro Max and still gets a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and of course gets the Titan Durability with IP66/68/69/69K. For the camera, it features the same setup too.
The spots where the phone really differs, its in the battery, where the 17 Pro has a 8340mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge support, and the processor which is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4.
Redmi Note 17 and 17 5G

There are two more models to choose from, in the REDMI lineup and that’s the REDMI Note 17 5G and Redmi Note 17. Both are very much an entry to the Redmi Note lineup smartphone. The 5G variant gives you the following specification:
- 6.99” FHD+ AMOLED Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i
- IP65 Protection
- Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 with 6GB or 8GB RAM and storage options of 128GB and 256GB.
- 7700mAh Battery with 45W turbo charging
- A single 50MP main camera and 16MP front facing camera
And then there’s the non-5G variant, the Redmi Note 17 which has a Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 processor and the rest remains to be the same as the 17 5G.
Pricing and Availability

You could see that the pricing isn’t quite the raving factor of these devices this time around, and that’s because all of these phones are severely affected by the RAM and storage shortage issues and which is why it doesn’t quite live upto the Redmi Note 15 lineup. That said, the pricing of these devices are as follows:
- Redmi Note 17 Pro Max
- 8GB | 256GB – RM 1,999
- 8GB | 512GB – RM 2,299
- Redmi Note 17 Pro
- 8GB | 256GB – RM 1,599
- 8GB | 512GB – RM 1,899
- 6GB | 128GB – RM 1,399
- Redmi Note 17 5G
- 6GB | 128GB – RM 1,099
- 6GB | 256GB – RM 1,299
- Redmi Note 17
- 4GB | 128GB – RM 849
We would recommend taking complete advantage of the deals Xiaomi Malaysia is offering as the prices might go up due to the conditions we are in.
