Digi’s iFleet is partnering with Medilife Ambulance Services and eCall systems, which will allow for real-time tracking of its fleet of vehicles.

Time Critical Tracking Essential For Ambulance Services

iFleet by Digi happens to be a B2B solution for commercial services, and is Digi’s first IoT solution from its Connected Vehicle offerings. Through iFleet, business are able to track their fleet of vehicles in real-time. As for Medilife, the service will be using iFleet to reduce response times of its ambulances to emergencies.

Currently, the average waiting time for an ambulance is 15 minutes, and with the aid of iFleet, this duration may go down further.  Through iFleet, Medilife’s central office will be able to alert its ambulances nearest to the distress scene. On top of that, Dr. A. Rasheed Ahmad MD, the Executive Director of Medilife Ambulance has stated that with the new partnership, the service will be able to ensure patients arrive at hospitals safely.

Dr. Rasheed went on to say that iFleet could reduce any downtimes or adverse situation faced by its fleet of ambulances. For example, it is common for ambulances to be involved in accidents in Malaysia, but that could be reduced with iFleet. Medilife’s central office could utilise iFleet to alert ambulance drivers of an accident prone road, and divert them to safer routes. Also, vehicle speed and the driving behaviour of their drivers can be tracked through the service.
