Last year, Xiaomi unveiled their successor to the Mi Mix which was released in 2016. In fact, it’s one of the devices we personally think that has a design language of it’s own and stands out from the rest of the competitors in the market. Not so long ago, the upcoming Mi Mix 2S leak surfaced online. If this is the device we are going to see later this year, this is probably going to be a device that steals a lot of attention.
The “Official” Mi Mix 2S Banner

With Mobile World Congress around the corner and the Mi Mix 2S leak surfacing online, it sure is an interesting time. We all know for a fact that, Mi 7 will not be announced at Barcelona. But from the looks of this official image, we might be seeing the Mix 2S earlier.
This particular banner surfaced on Sina Weibo. From the looks of it, it sure looks like it packs a punch under the hood. Just by looking at the picture, we can tell that the Mi Mix 2S will no longer have any bezel, making it the Android Bezel less smartphone with 18:9 aspect ratio.
After looking a bit closer, we noticed that the front facing camera is now at the top right corner, which looks totally fine compared to the bottom location which we saw in previous iteration. On the back, we also notice the dual camera setup. It’s rumored to have a dual 12MP Setup powered by Sony IMX363 Sensor, at least according to this firmware screenshot. It also rumored to support AI capabilities, where the camera will be able to detect scenes.

Specification shows that it comes with a 5.99″ FHD+ Display. It’s powered by Snapdragon 845, which will be Qualcomm’s upcoming powerful processor. Along with the 845, we also noticed that this device will come with 8GB RAM and 256GB Internal Storage, which is a lot. It’s also rumored to launch with Android Oreo with Project Treble support, will have a dual SIM tray, IR Blaster and a 3400 mAh Battery.
Not only that, it also said to have a 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization for the camera. Followed by the support for all global LTE Bands. And oh, it will have a ceramic body as well.
Other Rumors
Gesture Based MIUI
Last year, the iPhone X had a bezel less display design where they ditched the home button and went for gesture based controls. According to OnPhones video, it shows that the MIUI will have a gesture control for multitasking.
Rumored Under Display Fingerprint Sensor
The previous generation of Mi Mix we’ve seen so far has a fingerprint sensor that’s located on the back, right below the camera. But from this one picture, we can’t tell that it will be the same as the Fingerprint sensor isn’t as visible as you think. According to a rumor, there’s a chance that the Mi Mix 2S will feature an under-display fingerprint reader.
