One of the VOD streaming thats been anticipated by everyone all over the world currently, is without a doubt Disney+. It’s no surprise that us Malaysians have been waiting for this and now the wait is over, well, you kind of have to wait still but hey it’s finally here – here’s what you need to know and by the way, it’s Disney+ Hotstar.
Disney+ Hotstar
Disney+ Hotstar comes with plethora of shows made available – about 18,000 episodes and over 800 films from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, Nat Geo and so much more. Disney is also expanding its availability of content through Hotstar, by bringing popular Malaysian Films and Series onto your screen. Just like other streaming platforms we have seen so far – you will be able to use it on your smartphones, tablet, any streaming devices, and your Smart TVs too.
Pricing and Availability
Disney+ Hotstar will be made available for RM 54.90 for the first three months – that is, if you choose to purchase it directly with Disney. Split that into three months, you will be paying about RM 18.30 per month and that’s only for the first three months.
For Astro Users
It will also be made available through Astro, as they are the appointed official distributor of Disney+ Hotstar. Here’s how it works. If you happen to be subscribed to Astro’s Movie Pack, customers will be able to add the Disney+ Hotstar for an additional RM 5 per month whereas non-Movie Pack customers will have to subscribe to a bundle to be able to enjoy Disney+ Hotstar content.
You won’t be able to use it soon as it only starts streaming starting 1st of June – which isn’t too far off really. Unfortunately, there isn’t much information on other plans for the time being – so that means, users will have to opt in for the 3 months plan. But we will share more information when we receive.
