While some of us saw the leaks earlier, its now official that the Windows 11 is a thing with new looks, features and that support for Android app is pretty impressive. But that aside, Microsoft did announce that PCs and Laptops will be receiving the upcoming Windows 11 as a free upgrade. But there is a slight issue for those PCMR, that their system isn’t eligible for Windows 11. Don’t worry – you are eligible, after you do this.

Enabling TPM via BIOS

As always, Windows 11 has its set of requirements to fulfill, in that one of it is TPM – Trusted Platform Module Version 2.0 should be available. This is what causing the issue. So, before we get onto how to do it, we are going to explain what’s this TPM.

What is this TPM?

Trusted Platform Module – short for TPM is a technology specifically made to provide hardware-based security functions. With all these ransomwares and so many malicious threats our PCs are prone to get, the TPM offers a good amount of security to protect your PC from those. This TPM is a secure crypto-processor, specifically designed to execute the cryptographic functions. Some of the perks include tamper resistant and malicious software from tempering the security function.

Some of the advantages include:

  • Generate, store, and limit the use of cryptographic keys.
  • Use TPM technology for platform device authentication by using the TPM’s unique RSA key, which is burned into itself.
  • Help ensure platform integrity by taking and storing security measurements.

What about OEM Systems like Laptop or Pre-built PCs?

Now if you are wondering about pre-built PCs and Laptops, good because there are majority of us who rely on such systems – especially laptops. In our case, we personally use the ASUS Zenbook UX333 as our personal laptop. The moment we ran the PC Health Checker – the laptop was eligible for Windows 11. How is that?

OEM Systems such as laptops and pre-built PCs have TPM enabled by default from Factory – which is why its automatically eligible.
