Alongside the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, the company has also announced the brand new Samsung Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro as well as Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro.
Samsung Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro
The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Series includes Samsung’s BioActive Sensor, which was first seen on the Galaxy Watch4 series. The BioActive Sensor employs a single, one-of-a-kind chip that combines two powerful health sensors, Optical Heart Rate and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis, to provide comprehensive readings such as heart rate, blood oxygen level and even stress level.
The Body Composition measurement tool on the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Series provides a comprehensive picture of the user’s overall health, guiding them through personalised workouts and tracking progress. The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Series also provides users with recovery data, such as post-cardio heart rate after a strenuous workout and customised water consumption recommendations based on sweat loss.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Series also helps users understand their sleep patterns by monitoring stages of sleep, as well as snore detection and blood oxygen levels. Improve your sleeping habits with advanced Sleep Coaching, which provides a month-long guided programme.
Through SmartThings integration, the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Series automatically adjusts connected lights, AC units, and TVs to predetermined sleep settings. It also has improved fall detection, which notifies an emergency contact if the user or a loved one stumbles at home or falls out of bed.
The Galaxy Watch5 also has a 13% larger battery and can track eight hours of sleep in just eight minutes, which is 30% faster than the Galaxy Watch4. The new smartwatch series also comes with a Sapphire Crystal display for extra durability and runs One UI Watch4.5 out of the box.
As for the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro, it comes with the largest battery in a Galaxy Watch which is 60% larger than Galaxy Watch4. Additionally, for the first time on a Galaxy Watch, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro comes with GPX which allows users to record and share their hike with fellow trail-lovers on the Samsung Health app with Route Workout. The Galaxy Watch5 Pro also comes with a Turn-by-turn directions feature and a Track back feature.
Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro
The new Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro comes with Hi-Fi 24bit Audio that offers a high-dynamic range to the music listened to by the user. This is further enhanced by the new Samsung seamless codec (SSC HiFi) and the new coaxial 2-way speaker that makes for richer sounds.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro is now 15% smaller than its predecessor with a secure fit that is engineered to prevent rotation. It also features ANC and can easily switch to answer calls when users are playing games or watching a movie or TV show. Users can also use the SmartThings Find feature to help locate their Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro if they lose it.
Price and availability
The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 is available in two sizes; a Large 44mm option available in Graphite, Sapphire, and Silver and a Small 40mm option available in Graphite, Pink Gold, and Silver which features a Bora Purple strap. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro is available in Black Titanium and Gray Titanium with a 45mm display.
