Oppo Malaysia starts the brand-new year by launching their new smartphone for January of 2023. This time they unveiled the new Oppo A78 5G – a budget-friendly smartphone that emphasizes on the 5G aspect of things.

The Oppo A78 5G is your run-of-the-mill, mid-tier smartphone which has mid-tier specification – and we have to say that, given many brands are now labelling mid-tier smartphones as “budget flagships”. That said, the Oppo A78 5G sure isn’t going to blow minds but the specification is decent enough for users to have a great everyday experience.
Some of the key highlights include – the Oppo A78 5G comes with 33W SUPERVOOC Charging, a 5000mAh Battery, Dual Stereo Speakers, the ability to expand the RAM with the help of the storage and a 50MP Camera. Otherwise, the phone comes with a “Reno-like” design on the back and comes in two different colours: Glowing Purple and Black. Interestingly enough, the phone is certified for IPX4 – and while that only covers water spills, it is still protection worth having. Instead of a Qualcomm processor, Oppo has opted in for MediaTek Dimensity 700 which is a smarter choice, given that they are making good strides in the market.
Other than that, you get an 8GB+128GB configuration, an HD+ Display at 720p with 90Hz refresh rate but fret not, it does have a Micro SD Card slot, so that’s good.
