With the Malaysia Autoshow 2023 opening the doors to the best automotive innovation by many brands, BMW Malaysia will be launching their largest portfolio since the 2015 BMW World which happened at Malaysia Autoshow 2015. But from the looks of it, we pretty much have a hint of one of the many upcoming cars that are about to enter. The time is nearing for us to say hello to the BMW iX1 in Malaysia.

BMW iX1 Malaysia
BMW iX1 U11 BEV happens to be the first fully electric variant of the BMW X1. BMW has promised to bring in more of the “electrified” variants of its vehicles into the Malaysian market but the one car we are definitely getting here in Malaysia happens to be this. Personally, from the back, the iX1 looks like a chibi version of the BMW XM, which we witnessed not too long ago with sporty lines. (You can’t unsee it as well).
To give a quick summary of the car, it offers 230kW power which roughly translates to 313 horsepower with 494 Nm in torque. The car has the capability to hit 5.6 seconds in a noct-to-hundred km/h and most importantly, offers quick charging where just charging it for 10 minutes can give a 120km range – provided that you do charge at a high-power charging station.
Inside the car, we see a modernized console with the BMW Curved Display, touch and voice control enabled with the latest OS 9. It also happens to have a modern central console – which relies more on a button–based control over a traditional gear module which we see in the majority of the car. And then for some assistance, you do get Reversing Assistant and Parking Assistant.

We put two and two together, and as much as we know it is still a hunch – from the looks of it, the BMW iX1 Malaysia launch is very much imminent. And not to forget, they did send us a teaser – so, I am pretty sure this is one of the many car to make it’s way into Malaysia.
