All of the Wilds of Eldraine hype aside, what’s equally fun and important are the events and promos that happen alongside the new set – which you can find more about it here. That said, here are the Wilds of Eldraine Events and Promos and how you can get them.
Wilds of Eldraine Events and Promos
Wilds of Eldraine Prerelease 30th Anniversary Promo
During the Wilds of Eldraine Prerelease that’s happening any date from September 1st till 7th is the time when you can get yourself promos that coincide with Magic’s 30th Anniversary celebration. Now there are one out of 4 promos you could get and they are as follows:
- Hornet Queen (printed in French)
- Harvester of Souls
- Kalonian Hydra (low print quantity, printed in Spanish)
- Goblin Rabblemaster
Wilds of Eldraine Buy-a-Box Promo
Just like any other sets before, with the purchase of any of the Draft Boosters, Set Booster or Collector Boosters, you can get a Wilds of Eldraine Buy-a-Box Promo which is Expel the Interlopers – a 5 mana (3 colourless, 2 white) cost Sorcery that destroys all creatures with power greater than or equal to the chosen number. Pretty funny card if you ask me.
This is a “while stocks last” card.
Wilds of Eldraine Magic Open House Promo
And then there’s the Wilds of Eldraine Open House Event, which is replacing the Launch Party which gives the opportunity to bring “new-to-Magic” players to get a taste of MTG on how to play and so on in a friendly environment. On top of that, existing players can bring their new friends or family to teach them to play.
So, this time around, the Promo given out for this happens to be Drown in the Loch, a Dimir card with 2 mana costs (1 blue and 1 Black) instant that lets you choose one of the two abilities. Looks like a Dimir card after all. This launch party will be happening anytime from 8th September to 10th September 2023.
Subsequently, with the Open House promo – as we mentioned earlier, if you do bring a friend/family over to teach them and play the game, you will be given an extra card as a part of the Bring-a-Friend Promo.
Wilds of Eldraine Bring-a-Friend Promo
This time, the Wilds of Eldraine Bring-a-Friend Promo is Cultivate. A pretty good ramp card in green which I run in my Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm deck that helps me get my lands out faster.
Wilds of Eldraine Commander Party Promo
If you happen to play Commander just like we do, well then, it’s your time to shine as you get to immerse yourself in a storybook-style Commander Game with unique rules, similar to the Lord of the Rings Commander Party which goes along with the Commander Game. That said, this time, the promo for this happens to be Syr Konrad, the Grim. Neat. The Commander Party will be happening anytime from September 15th till 17th.
Wilds of Eldraine Lotus Petal Promo
Finally, starting 22nd September, as long as you and the players show up and play in one event at any of the stores, you will be eligible for a Lotus Petal promo, for each player and this will be while supplies last. Now, this could be obtained during FNM, Commander Nights or any of the events we mentioned above – although do check with your stores.
