With POCO dropping the new F7 Series out of the oven, we are sure, everyone is rushing to find out which one is good, what are the differences and such – so worry not, as we do a Poco F7 Ultra vs Poco F7 Pro – which is pretty much a battle between the siblings and who bring the right experience for the right type of users.
Poco F7 Ultra vs Poco F7 Pro
Differences
Processor (Snapdragon 8 Elite vs 8 Gen 3)

For starters, the Poco F7 Ultra uses the more elusive Snapdragon 8 Elite which is the best you can get in 2025 and it’s the same processor you’d find on any flagships in the android realm. The Poco F7 Pro, brings a better price-to-value ratio by opting in for a year old flagship processor, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 – and it still performs amazingly well with minor performance gaps between the Elite.
Simply put, get the Ultra if you want the best processor this year could offer, and go for the Pro if you want the more bang for the buck and still get a flagship experience with minor performance difference.
Battery and Charging (5300mAh vs 6000mAh and 120W/50W vs 90W HyperCharge)
Battery can also be a huge deciding factor for many, as people these day do spend more time on the road and at places with no power sources most of the time. Power banks can mitigate this issue but having more battery capacity in a phone is always good. The 6000mAh in the Pro is going to make you happy and it gets the bigger battery due to the slightly more efficient thermals offered by the processor, which leads to a smaller Vapor Chamber cooler.
The Ultra has a battery with 700mAh less (5300mAh) because you are trading it for a bigger VC to handle your thermals better with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. But worry not, because the 120W HyperCharge is going to get the phone juiced up in no time and you can do that wirelessly too with a 50W HyperCharge. The Pro is limited to a 90W HyperCharge – which I still think is fast for today’s standards.
Camera Setup (Triple Camera vs Dual Camera)

Photography isn’t the prime focus when you get a phone for gaming – and if that’s really the case, then the Pro is all you need – which comes equipped with a 50MP Main camera, using the Light Fusion 800 Sensor at f/1.6 and a 8MP Ultra-wide camera at f/2.2. On the front, it houses a simple 20MP camera.
But if you do want some level of decent photography experience out of a gaming phone, although you may not get the Leica experience the Xiaomi 15 series offers – you’ll be very happy with the functional triple camera setup: 50MP Light Fusion 800 primary sensor, 50MP 60mm Telephoto Sensor and a 32MP 120 degree FOV Ultrawide sensor. On the front, it has a 32MP sensor.
Display (2K Flow AMOLED VisionBoost D7 vs without VisionBoost D7)

Both the phones do share the same display: which is a 6.67” 120Hz Flow AMOLED display that’s going to make a lot of gamers happy. It’s all the same down to the tea: 1800 nits HBM and 3200 nits peak brightness, 2K resolution and DCI-P3 support. But what the Ultra has additionally is the VisionBoost D7 chipset – which claims to give an ultra-clear graphics with high energy efficiency.

Something, we can only confirm when we get to try the Poco F7 Pro.
Display Glass (POCO Shield Glass vs Gorilla Glass 7i)

While my personal preference is more towards the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i found on the Pro, the Poco F7 Ultra uses their in-house Shield Glass which claims to offer the toughest protection you could find on a POCO device which further reinforced the durability, drop and scratch protection.
RAM and Storage Configuration (12GB 256GB/16GB 512GB or 12GB 256GB or 512GB)

16GB RAM in today’s world of smartphones are still under utilized by a lot – but if you still need it, you can get the Poco F7 Ultra which also comes coupled with a 512GB storage. You can go for the 12GB RAM but its limited to 256GB storage. The Poco F7 Pro offers the best balance in my opinion with a single 12GB RAM option and you get to pick between 256GB or 512GB.
With how games are getting ridiculously huge in file size for mobile, you are better off getting the 512GB storage.
Similarities
From the phone’s design, connectivity, speakers, fingerprint sensors – expect the same from both the devices – which is expected of.
Which one to get then?
Honestly, the Poco F7 Pro and the F7 Ultra are two fantastic smartphones – it all comes back to the price you’d like to pay. But knowing that both the phones are going to be perfectly capable gaming smartphones, where you probably can’t tell the difference in person to begin with – my pick would be the Poco F7 Pro which offers a much better value-for-money for gamers as it solely focuses on performanceand without a doubt – is a easy win.
But if you are the type of consumer that isn’t satisfied with dated hardware and chase after the next best thing but of course need a decent camera experience, faster charging and such – the Poco F7 Ultra is the “Ultra” choice for you. Most importantly, you want the slightly better triple camera setup, the more faster charging speeds – then yes, there you have it.
