Samsung most definitely tried their best to keep the leaks in control, but we were just bombarded with so many good stuffs and personally for me being the whole Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra bringing back the legacy that went missing for a year and this time, it’s simply better and to put it in one word: Ultra-noteworthy.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: The Real Note we have been waiting for

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra in Green

If you have waited for a successor to the Galaxy Note, you will be very delighted to know that the S22 Ultra is that successor with no caveats. Not only does it bring back the phone from the dead, but it brings the same experience in the same Note body which we grew to love. It feels exactly like Samsung picked up where they left off. The S Pen has been integrated within the phone and the S21 Ultra’s approach to S Pen is completely gone. While it may not be a note in its name, it’s a note in real life.

Very Polished Finish

See how I mentioned how exactly the Galaxy S22 Ultra, picks up where the Note 20 Ultra left off? If you remember the Note20 Ultra design in its beautiful Copper color that just looks beautiful and stands out with its curved body and flat top and bottom, the S22 Ultra refines that with a much more rounded of feeling with smooth edges that slips beautifully into the frame more so than ever that it’s so hard to tell where the glass ends, and the frame begins.

Oh, I must admit, the S22 Ultra is such a thick smartphone. Thicker than the S21 Ultra which I use on a day-to-day basis.

The S Pen I love is here

As a note fan myself, we live for the S Pen and the S22 Ultra brings back that same, if not better experience I had with the Note series. Not just that, it’s now more impressive with some serious upgrades under the hood where a creative would absolutely appreciate it such as: reduced latency to 2.8ms, upgrade of the Wacom handwriting component and the software throws in some extra tricks to make the experience predictable and learn from its users.

First Time: We are getting Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

Personally, I was expecting to see the next Samsung Exynos 2200 which is equipped with AMD’s RDNA 2 technologies called Xclipse GPU. But Samsung quoted “due to the shortage”, Malaysia will be getting Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and honestly, I am not too sure how to feel about this. Let’s not jump to conclusions on this just yet, but as for the rest of the specifications – we will be getting:

  • 8 or 12GB of RAM
  • Storage option of 128GB / 256GB / 512GB respectively.

As for the rest

Moving on to the other part of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, some of the things we would like to highlight:

  • 6.8” QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display
    • Vision Booster, Eye Comfort Shield
  • Cameras:
    • 12MP Ultra-Wide, 108MP Wide Camera, 10MP 3x Telephoto, 10MP 10x Telephoto
    • 40MP Front Camera
  • 5000mAh Battery | 45W Wired Fast Charging
  • Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2

As for the pricing, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes in three variants for the Malaysian Market:

  • RM 5,899 for 12GB + 512GB
  • RM 5,499 for 12GB + 256GB
  • RM 5,099 for 8GB + 128GB

It will be made available in 4 different colors: Phantom Black, Silver, Green and Burgundy. Starting from 10th February – you will be able to pre-order the phone.
